The dichotomy of life can feel challenging at times. There's this idea that there's often a division between feelings felt and experiences experienced. That they can only be one thing or the other; mutually exclusive or contradictory of each other. We like to challenge that thought. And offer a solution, embracing the "AND".
It may look differently to you…
I can set boundaries AND I can choose to be flexible.
I can express my needs AND acknowledge they won’t always be met.
I accept where I am AND I still allow for change.
I am making progress in my healing journey AND I still struggle at times.
I am putting in the work to make changes AND I still mess up sometimes.
I am working daily to process my trauma AND I still get triggered.
I have days when things feel great AND I have days when things feel hard.
These seemingly contrasting things are maybe not even contrasting at all. What if it could be argued that you actually need one to have the other? That you need to experience the two ends of the spectrum in order to find your balance?
We greatly value the importance of meeting yourself where you are. Be present in the moment AND make choices for your future. If you desire change, be clear and precise in your goals and focus on what you want.
